One of the first guest houses in Baga – Calangute, Joanita Aunty was one young woman with 4 kids cooking and taking care of all the people who visit her small house and stay at that time.

It started with one room and studio and now Joanita Guest House is a popular place after 40 years. All customers keep coming back. First it was hippy foreigners, then travelers, businessmen and so on.

There were opportunites to make the hotel big and a commercial place too but we always stuck to our traditional look and attire.

At the moment Stella (Aunty’s daughter-n-law) does the booking and is responsible for your nice stay at Joanita Guest House. In case you are lost she will guide you how to come to the right point.

For this year i.e. 2016 one part of the rooms has been given on Lease. This is the first building from the road. You have to continue straight and ask for Stella. Back side of the pink house is a yellow building and opposite to it is a small Restaurant. This is the right place.
